2/25/2012 so the Forestheart website has not been updated in years. Really.
Like 10 years. Many reasons, but fortunately I did such a good job on the original website in the first place that it has remained useful
even when mortifyingly out of date.
Now I have new software, and a support guy in the Philippines got the FTP settings worked out, and I am updating the site.
I’m not going to include prices- they are changing too often (= lots of maintenance), and I get too many calls from people who are nowhere nearby, who just want the very best price. My price is usually the list price- with value added extras like impromptu instruction, and special attention of various sorts, personal assistance to find what you need even if I don’t have it to sell to you, instruction sheets, a reference library to consult, etc. -and you don’t pay shipping.
PLEASE, use your most local supplier when you can. Your local supplier will make comforting noises and help you solve problems. If they are like me, they will open the store at unusual hours because your Aunt Matilda needs something before you take her to the airport, or because she is passing through this evening only. You local supplier will let your kid’s scout troop visit the store and make you a cup of tea on a chilly (or difficult) day. Local suppliers deserve your business (and they’ve been going out of business in droves). You will see things when visiting a mortar and bricks shop that you would miss surfing the net. You can touch and handle and examine the many wonderful things a good shop has around. Brain candy. And we can compare what books we are reading and such.
So if you bought your loom from the cheapest guy on the internet, and you want me to help you sort out problems you are having with it, bring me some chocolate, buy a bunch of yarn from me- or call the place you got it for help. That’s fair, right?
On the other hand, I ship things all over- perle cotton to a special school in Oregon, Ukrainian egg dyes, anything that I sell. I’m very good with color, and can even sort that out on the phone sometimes (yellow like a schoolbus, an egg yolk, a lemon?)
